My Hobby is studying the perceived impossibilities that actually come to pass - The Black Swan theories, logically, mathematically and metaphysically. We'll see... a good title derived from The Book: "The Black Swan" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb - a book that discusses the "Triplet" " Rarity, Extreme Impact and Retrospective" an unexpected event with Low probability, Large Impact - a phenomenon - the fact we tend to act as if it did not happen... All you need is "One single Black Bird!" And turn "the thinkers" heads upside down - and wonder - I guess we'll have to rethink everything we thought. Another book written in a different mode: "How We Know What Isn't So" by Thomas Gilovich - "It ain't so much the things we don't know that get us into trouble. It's the things we know that just ain't so" in the introduction a quote by Artemus Ward.
Lest we forget (what is now popular and untrue) "Urban Legends" - something you can search on the web!
And finally I would recommend a wonderful book by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan ( Mrs. CS): "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" a book dealing with 4.5 billion years of evolution that "randomly" created what is living today - Man - the results of "strengths and errors in evolution - randomness - no design intended - a succession of errors, mistakes, whatever - Man Fallible - Fall-able - The Earth will not die, Man might die off - and evolution will progress!!!
These are almost "Text Books" requiring study and thought.
WARNING: If you are of "Creationist Thought" forget about reading these books - you are destine to wander the universe forever, looking for Heaven - which is, of course, right here on Earth - NOW!
So is this movie just a use of a seductive title - or will it turn the heads of those who see it?
